Summary

The Data Governance Lead will enhance data governance initiatives by leveraging Collibra data governance tooling. The incumbent will have a deep understanding of Collibra implementation, data governance frameworks, metadata management, and regulatory compliance. This role involves close collaboration with business and engineering stakeholders to drive data governance adoption, improve data quality, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and configuration of Collibra to align with enterprise data governance strategies.
  • Customize workflows, operating models, and integrations within Collibra.
  • Define and maintain Collibra metadata models, taxonomies, and business glossaries.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Drive data lineage, metadata management, and stewardship programs.
  • Implement data quality rules and ensure continuous monitoring of data assets.
  • Integrate Collibra with data catalogs, ETL tools, BI platforms, and data lakes (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Informatica, Tableau).
  • Automate metadata ingestion and governance workflows using Collibra APIs and scripting (Groovy, Python, Java, etc.).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless Collibra integration with data management ecosystems.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) by leveraging Collibra’s compliance modules.
  • Conduct data governance assessments and audits to ensure adherence to governance policies.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Target Salary Range

$132,000 - $150,000 if located in Illinois

Education and/or Experience: 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Management Information Systems or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Collibra (configuration, workflows, metadata modeling).
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK, DCAM).
  • Experience integrating Collibra with data platforms, ETL tools, and BI tools.
  • Proficiency in Collibra APIs, Groovy scripting, SQL, or Python for workflow automation and metadata ingestion.
  • Experience with data lineage, data catalogs, and data stewardship programs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Proven ability to learn new technical applications quickly

Preferred

  • Collibra Ranger or Collibra Expert Certification
