Revenue Management Associate Director

Summary

The Revenue Management Associate Director leads teams that are responsible for supporting the revenue management objectives and needs of Firm management, Partners, Global Practice Leaders and Office Managing Partners. The Associate Director ensures that revenue management teams minimize write-offs or reductions in revenue through timely monitoring, analysis and reporting that is designed to ensure compliance with Firm policies and protocols and minimize financial risk. The Associate Director supports revenue management team leaders in the identification, escalation and resolution of revenue issues, challenges and risk. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue management, financial analysis, and process improvement, as well as excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to develop, coach, and empower a talented team of revenue professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a team of high performing business professionals that support the revenue management objectives and needs of Firm management, Global Practice Leaders and Office Managing Partners.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to the revenue management team, to project confidence, credibility and professionalism in interactions with partners and Firm management.
  • Develop and support a reporting and analytics team and a reporting strategy that provides timely, accurate information and allows various stakeholders to make business decisions and support the revenue cycle operations.
  • Develop and utilize analytical tools and reports to identify operational challenges and potential risk.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying revenue cycle inefficiencies, enhancing workflows, and driving process and technology enhancements that support firm Partners and Firm management.
  • Serve as the central intake and coordination point for leadership-driven revenue inquiries, ensuring complex, escalated, and/or ad hoc analysis requests are addressed efficiently.
  • Oversee and support a holistic backlog management program, including time entry, unassigned time, billing of WIP, collection of invoices and monitoring of unallocated collections utilizing best practices, protocols and reporting strategy for the proactive monitoring of financial risk.
  • Work with other revenue cycle functional leadership to drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, supporting process enhancements, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to streamline issue resolution and optimize workflows.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the legal industry, the firm's practices, clients and  business processes.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Target Salary Range

$195,000 - $235,000 if located in Illinois

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; advanced degree or certification preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in revenue operations, preferably in a law Firm or professional services environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience, with proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse and high-performing team
  • Strong knowledge of revenue operations processes, systems, and best practices, including client financial terms management, billing, client accounting, electronic billing, and accounts receivable
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
