Summary

The Associate Director, Procurement is responsible for understanding the functional strategies of the Firm, finance and spend management, and applying that knowledge to the strategic development and execution of spend management policies, processes, technology systems and tools, process improvement, capability development, change management and organizational design. The incumbent must also be able to enable and support individuals who utilize these tools and processes, and lead work across global procurement to drive one approach. Successful implementation of these strategies, including annual projects to move org along maturity curve are critical success factors. This role will require the ability to develop partnerships across the organization, leadership to influence and persuade, and a strong ability to think innovatively and be able to communicate that vision and drive change management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Spend Management Policy and Process Roadmaps  across Sourcing, Procurement and Accounts Payable with a goal of alignment, integration and optimization.
  • Support and manage the S2P system (today S2P), including buying activities, catalog creation as necessary, driving compliance to tool, working with AP on synergies to drive efficiencies, buying on behalf of the Firm, and managing contract renewal cycles.
  • Develop a technology global roadmap for Spend Management. This includes technology solutions for S2P transformation, data analytics, risk management sustainability, diversity, and any AI potential tools
  • Provide strategic support for Spend Management, leading areas such as Spend Analytics, Preferred Supplier Program, Developing Risk Monitoring systems, establishing an SRM program that includes Supplier Management and Supply Base Design Guidelines, creating a constant state of Audit Readiness, Training of staff on key strategies, leading change management initiatives and spear-heading stakeholder satisfaction analysis.
  • Work across Spend Management to solve business opportunities and challenges, address non-compliance, internal controls and efficiency of teams, etc.
  • Savings, Project and Pipeline Reporting, Sustainability and Diversity reporting as needed and required – as well as spend opportunity insights, negotiation support, compliance and efficiency analysis
  • Ability to travel – less than 10%.
  • Ability to identify talent, hire, develop, and supervise others and conduct performance reviews.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Target Salary Range

$180,000 – $220,000 if located in Illinois

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of Project Management experience with process improvement, preferably within Procurement 
  • Experience managing Sourcing and Category Management activities within Procurement activities
  • Strong S2P knowledge
  • Strategic viewpoint, with an understanding of marketplace landscape and technology environment
  • Strong influencing, decision making, and negotiation skills
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills in a variety of settings
  • Demonstrated ability to build and create comprehensive strategies that are easily understood and translate well into executable steps that drive results.

Preferred:

  • Masters of Business Administration
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience in Sourcing, Category Management and Purchasing/Buying
  • Knowledge of IT Systems, AI influence in todays processes
  • Accounts Payable knowledge
