Summary

The Photo Specialist owns our Portfolio of Photo Services that includes management of the photo studio, corporate photo shoots, scheduling and execution of daily requests, as well one-off high profile large projects. The Specialist also helps with our new Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform called Bynder. Bynder centralizes our photo assets by building and curating enterprise-level repositories and reimagining the asset management processes. The Specialist will lead team members across the firm to translate business, creative, and operational requirements into a Bynder development roadmap, and be responsible for leading the ongoing development, integrations, migrations, and best practices for the Bynder platform. Additionally, the Specialist will collaborate with our Multimedia Production team as a videographer to record various productions in our video studio, in all of our offices, and on location.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees projects that include onsite and offsite photo shoots, professional portraits for lawyers and staff, generating social media content, photographing firmwide events, as well as create products for the internet, intranet, photo books, publications, social media, all of which includes photo retouching.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of digital photographic equipment and accessories, including cameras, lenses, tripods, electronic lighting and light meters, photographic studio systems, reflectors, filters, props, and more.
  • Coaches, reviews and delegates work to other professionals, as well as trains staff in all 21 offices on how to take photos and maintain their gear to meet the Firm’s standards.
  • Maintain a new DAM, which includes importing, keywords, tagging, organizing assets.
  • Works with senior staff, stake holders and department heads on implementing and integrating the Bynder DAM into the Firm’s other photo databases to reduce redundancy and streamline processes.
  • Leads and coordinates the work of internal and external photographers to develop new, and streamline old processes.
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements.
  • Is recognized as an expert and advisor within the organization that solves unique and complex problems.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Target Salary Range

$105,000 - $120,000 if located in New York

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of professional photography, photo editing and archive experience.
  • Experience with digital technology and editing software packages.
  • Experience with Lightroom and Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, and Illustrator and Premiere.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems (uploading assets, editing metadata, creating workflows, etc.)
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates artistic judgment and creativity.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Experience with environmental and studio portraits
  • Ability to setup and facilitate large production shoots for brochures and magazines
  • Law firm experience
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in photography with some ideography/cinematography
  • Department leadership or management experience
