Summary

The Revenue Management Senior Manager is responsible for supporting the Litigation Global Practice Leaders (GPLs) through the proactive management of backlog and revenue cycle outcomes for the Litigation Global Practice Group, as well as revenue reporting and insights to inform revenue-related decisions.  In addition to being the lead contact for the GPLs, the Revenue Management Senior Manager will also be a critical liaison with other operational revenue cycle teams and leaders.  The Director of Client Accounting will rely heavily on this role for identifying and managing backlog challenges within the practice(s), including providing support for reporting delivered to Firm management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with Firm revenue management policies and protocols throughout the matter lifecycle, coordinating with other revenue cycle teams to escalate to GPLs as needed.
  • Monitor clients and matters for financial risk, including backlog and deviations from agreed upon terms, and deliver escalation reporting to GPLs and other firm leadership
  • Serve as a revenue management subject matter expert for the practice group
    • Lead issue resolution for GPLs as the single point of contact for escalations
    • Develop a deep understanding of the various Practice Area Teams and challenges unique to the practice and/or client group while working to resolve and/or escalate issues to GPLs as needed
  • Provide insights to firm leadership and Global Practice Leaders (GPLs) to support decision-making on revenue risks, backlog, and write-offs
    • Create insightful analysis of revenue cycle activities for clients with the largest financial impact and operational complexity
    • Proactive monitoring of key revenue cycle metrics to identify clients and matters that may present financial risk or may be indicative of operational breakdowns; examples include: incorrect client / matter set-ups, pending fee arrangement negotiations matters that are exceeding or deviating from agreed upon terms, missing time, e-billing rejections, unapplied funds, aged e-billing rejections, and aged unbilled time and receivables
  • Identify risks, escalating high-impact issues, and driving intervention strategies to mitigate financial exposure
  • Serve as the central point of contact for revenue operations inquiries, ensuring timely response, resolution, and seamless collaboration across functions
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by eliminating revenue cycle inefficiencies, enhancing workflows, and driving process and technology enhancements that support GPL needs
  • Collaborate to develop best practices designed to improve management of complex scenarios, including:
    • Trouble shooting multiple payor scenarios (including insurance payors)
    • Monitoring and analysis of alternative fee arrangements and risk of write-offs or adjustments
    • Proactive monitoring for lack of compliance with outside counsel guidelines and related e-billing requirements
  • Where necessary, engage with non-US operational teams to understand backlog challenges in those markets, with focus on enabling the GPLs to act, as needed

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. Target Salary Range

$170,000-$205,000 if located in Illinois

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant revenue cycle management experience
  • Experience working in the legal industry or similar professional services company
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills within his/her professional background

Preferred:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience working cross-functionally
  • Exposure to process improvement or design
