Summary

The Knowledge Management (KM) Product Specialist at Sidley is responsible for the administration, management, and continuous improvement of technology solutions that support the practice and business of law. This role involves evaluating potential solutions, managing the configuration, implementation, and ongoing administration of assigned technologies, and collaborating with KM leaders to enhance the technology portfolio. The Product Specialist also contributes to the development and execution of product roadmaps, works with cross-functional teams to complete projects, and ensures business goals are documented and communicated. Additionally, the Specialist defines best practices, supports training programs, and interacts with internal and external resources to address technical issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Under the direction of KM leaders, contribute to the development of strategic business goals and overall roadmap for the portfolio technologies to address current needs, as well as to anticipate future growth and opportunities
  • In collaboration with IT, manage the execution of the configuration, implementation and on-going administration of technologies within the portfolio
  • In collaboration with KM leaders, identify and prioritize opportunities to enhance or expand the portfolio technologies and to collaborate with other KM and firm solutions
  • Work closely with KM leaders and IT to define technical specifications, the desired user experience and acceptance criteria for features and functionality, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and KM priorities
  • Collaborate with IT to manage development, issue and enhancement requests and release cycle to ensure timely delivery of features and functionality that reflect the firm’s strategic business goals and KM priorities
  • Manage active and passive feedback loops to gather requirements, assess the efficacy and adoption of the related technology and incorporate that into the development of strategic business goals and product roadmaps
  • Develop, maintain and analyze metrics on usage, trends, etc. related to the portfolio technologies
  • Contribute to the development of implementation and communication strategies aimed at maximizing the impact and value of the portfolio technologies and manage their execution
  • Develop subject matter expertise with the content, configuration and capabilities of the portfolio technologies
  • Develop subject matter expertise with regard to the scope and nature of internal and external data and technologies that could be leveraged to enhance the portfolio technologies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations and policies
  • Manage relationships with vendors and outside service providers related to the portfolio technologies to ensure a consistent, high-level of service and performance

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. Target Salary Range

$99,000 - $115,000 if located in Illinois

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience with collaboration site platforms and related technology such as SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Platform, and other related technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy and priorities into tangible action items and execute effectively
  • Experience supporting information systems including integration with both internal and external data sources
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to problem solve independent of manager oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical concepts to client and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming as it relates to automation tools

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technology projects with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Familiarity with major technology tools commonly used by large law firms such as NetDocuments, Map Engine, and Asana
  • Experience managing project teams from inception through planning, execution and completion
  • Experience working within law firm structure and business practices, as well as practice-specific terminology
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as TyGraph
