Summary

The Conflicts Researcher is responsible for researching prospective new clients to assess and mitigate ethical, financial, and reputational risks presented. The Conflicts Researcher will also be responsible for other research and analytical initiatives that support the Firm’s Conflicts Analysts and Conflicts Staff Attorneys. This role will also include opportunities to understand the broader conflicts/new business intake process and acquire skills that would provide a foundation for advancement within the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research prospective clients using online databases and public domain searches to build a corporate profile and identify high risk factors and business or reputational risks.
  • Compose New Client Evaluations including a summary of the prospective client and its risk profile for review by requesting partner, Global Practice Group Leader and New Business Committee.
  • Conduct other corporate research and analysis activities needed in the day to day processing of incoming Conflicts Search Requests and client maintenance.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at improving the quality, integrity and standardization of data entered into the Firm’s conflicts database.
  • Perform various special projects and duties as assigned.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $72,000 if located in Illinois

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Previous analytical research experience in an academic or business environment and/or experience with corporate research resources 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency in database systems & queries
  • Experience with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Client (KYC), Due Diligence or risk management
  • Experience with corporate research tools (including Capital IQ, Worldcheck, Dun & Bradstreet, and/or Bureau van Dijk)
