  • Summary

    The Knowledge Management (KM) Attorney works with the Capital Markets Global Practice Group to develop and maintain a KM program to drive efficiency and improve client service. The KM Attorney will collaborate with the KM Partners from the practice to create best practices, gain consensus on standards of operational efficiency, and develop measures of success for the practice’s KM program.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Depending on the needs of the practice, duties and responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

    • Work with the KM Partners to evaluate the practice’s current KM-related efforts, and to identify and prioritize new projects that will contribute to the efficiency of the practice.
    • Create and maintain a searchable knowledge repository (e.g., practice collaboration site) of exemplar forms, precedent, memos, research, business development materials and other helpful content for the practice such as industry updates and client alerts.
    • Develop workflow improvements for common processes.
    • Using Foundation, the firm’s experience management platform, create matter profiles for current and historic matters.
    • Work with the KM department to evaluate and deploy innovative technology to reduce manual data collection, automate document creation, assist with legal research, and to otherwise support the practice.
    • Research and monitor legal and industry developments and trends and ensure the practice is informed as needed.
    • Train lawyers on and promote use of the KM resources at the firm.
    • Communicate regularly with other KM Attorneys at the firm to share best practices.
    • Participate in the design, deployment and maintenance of client facing knowledge management projects.
    • Draft and collect thought leadership materials and presentations, including training materials, memos, alerts, practice notes, industry updates, and reports from attendance at CLEs and conferences.
    • Other duties as required by the practice.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Required:

    • Juris doctor
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience as an attorney, ideally in the assigned practice group

     

     Preferred:

    • Prior experience using Foundation
