  • Summary

    The Cash Management Specialist reports to the Global Treasury Manager and supports other department staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Upload and process the daily ACH/wire transactions provided by Accounts Payable – including review of documentation prior to upload to ensure it follows guidelines set forth
    • Process various international banking transactions
    • Process Mid-month and End-of-Month Partner Payments
    • Process ad-hoc wire transfers from Partner Accounting, Tax and/or Accounts Payable
    • Prepare daily cash management folder for manager review
    • Prepare daily cash management journal entries for manager review/approval
    • Perform daily inquiries and run reports from the various internet banking sites/systems
    • Daily processing of Client Trust Transactions and the recording of such transactions in the Elite Trust Module; ensure related policies and procedures are followed
    • Daily update of cash balances on the Sidley Intranet
    • Weekly update of the international cash position
    • As requested - review and initiate funding requests from other Sidley offices, both domestic and foreign
    • Assist in daily monitoring of cash balances
    • Assist in maintaining banking matrices and ensuring they are kept up to date
    • Assist in maintaining written processes and procedures for areas of responsibilities
    • Identify opportunities for improvement, and provide information and recommendations to management
    • Assistance in special projects, as assigned
    • Develop a good understanding of Firm operations and the law firm industry, along with an appreciation for high-quality customer service specifically in relation to Partners, Attorneys and other accounting groups within the Firm
    • For internal control purposes, agree to take a mandatory, consecutive two week period of combined leave time (CLT)

    Education and/or Experience:

     

    Required:

    • Proficient in data entry
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Ability to manage combined leave time (CLT) to cover a mandatory, consecutive two week absence
    • Bachelor’s or associate degree

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting or related field
