  • Summary

    The Library Collection Coordinator is a member of the centralized Technical Services team. He/ she will ensure that all US print materials are received at the central (Chicago) office on time and then delivered to the appropriate office for use. They will also participate in the management of online research accounts and assist with other departmental responsibilities, as needed.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Coordinate the Library’s print collection in all US offices.

    • Maintain serial records in the ILS.
    • Work with publishers and other vendors to verify publication information and to claim missing materials.
    • Perform collection and ILS management, as required.
    • Assist with book processing, as needed.
    • Perform remote circulation to locate and track library books in attorney’s offices.
    • Package and ship materials to appropriate office.

    Coordinate resources provided to attorneys and other firm staff.

    • Maintain routing and office book information for US attorneys and staff in the ILS.
    • Update lists of routing, office copies and electronic resources.
    • Assist the Digital Resource Analyst with establishing and tracking online accounts for attorneys and other firm staff.
    • Facilitate electronic serial delivery.

    Recommend improvements to the processes and procedures that the central library performs.


    Performs collection services for all Sidley’s US office libraries.


    Serve as back up to the Acquisitions Coordinator, as needed.


    Other duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience:



    • 5 years of experience handling serials in a library setting
    • Experience with integrated library management systems
    • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat


    • Coursework in Library and Information Science studies
    • Experience handling legal material
