Greets clients/visitors and directs them appropriately.  Receives general phone line calls and directs to the appropriate party.  Assists in maintaining the 23rd floor Reception area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives and greets clients/visitors, answers general questions and directs individuals to our conference center or calls the party with whom they have an appointment.
  • Receives incoming calls that come through the main line, routes calls to the appropriate person, and directs calls to voicemail.
  • Receives long distance turnaround documents, coding calls to appropriate client/matter number using Sidley Meeting Assistant for calls that were held in a conference room.
  • Issues parking vouchers and cab vouchers, when appropriate.
  • Maintains neat appearance of the reception area.
  • Monitors conference rooms; schedules conference rooms using Sidley Meeting Assistant.
  • Receives information regarding visiting lawyers/personnel from other offices.
  • Assists with other duties and special projects, as assigned.

  • High school  diploma of general education degree (GED)
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette


  • 1-2 years law firm or professional services firm experience
  • Typing skills of 40 wpm
  • Working knowledge of Avaya Attendant Consoles
  • General office experience, with particular ability to handle shifting priorities seamlessly
