The Litigation Paralegal will manage all aspects of large scale, complex litigation within the Appellate group. The position will require overtime and may involve some travel.

Candidates with an advanced degree and experience in academia are especially encouraged to apply!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mainly responsible for all of the cite checking assignments for the Appellate group
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Experience with proof reading
  • Edit and format briefs using Word styles for camera-ready copy
  • Manage electronic and hard copy documents through litigation technology
  • Legal and factual cite checking including the ability to shepardize and Blue Book a brief
  • Thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements
  • Knowledge of Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and internet search engines for research purposes
  • Knowledge of Pacer and ECF filing procedures
  • Supervise project assistants and temporary staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with Clients, Partners, Associates, Legal Assistants and all staff members

Education and/or Experience:


  • BA/BS with strong academic credentials
  • Four years of paralegal experience at a medium or large law firm or equivalent experience in academia including work towards and completion of advanced degree
  • Proficient at MicroSoft Office applications
  • Writing sample must be submitted with resume
