Summary

This position will lead and manage Sidley’s IT infrastructure organization on a global basis. The position responsibility will encompass the Telecommunications, Network, Server, Storage, Cloud/Hybrid Cloud strategy, and Network Operations Center (NOC) strategy, execution and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the infrastructure teams, from a strategy, execution, operations, people leadership/development, and budgetary perspective to ensure that they consistently and effectively support the business needs of the Firm.
  • Ensure that the team performs according to the approved processes, policies, and standards, resulting in robust, secure, reliable and high-performing infrastructure.
  • Direct people management responsibilities for assigned areas including: Hiring, Goal Setting, Performance Management, Career Development, and Succession Management.
  • Partner with the various stakeholders, including the CIO, application groups, business stakeholders, business IT portfolios, and other groups throughout the Firm to develop the infrastructure roadmap. Participate in the selection and timing of project or program investments based on the organization's strategic plan and budgeted resources.
  • Present proposed technical solutions and other materials to various teams within the organization.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with peers, technical and non-technical leadership, vendors, and interested parties to set and meet agreed-upon goals.
  • Draft and implement critical processes and procedures based on industry best practices.
  • Define, document and measure attainment of service level objectives.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Ten years of experience in an IT infrastructure leadership role for a mid- to large-sized, global enterprise environment
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to achieve results through others
  • In-depth knowledge of the cloud for use as IaaS, SaaS, successfully led transformations from a own and build in data centers model to leveraging various cloud services (private, public, hybrid) for server, storage, disaster recovery, and five years of well rounded experience
  • Solid understanding of the technology we use and advances in infrastructure related technologies
  • Experience with cost/benefit analysis, service and service risk management in the context of the cloud, vendor service level agreements, architectural and design aspects.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills along with an excellent understanding of business decision making and cost control processes
  • Detailed knowledge of processes and procedures for IT change management, information security and systems recovery
  • Strong service orientation
  • Operations management experience in a large, 24x7, multinational and multicultural environment.
