The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Deputy General Counsel/Conflicts and New Business (DGC) and the Conflicts/New Business Senior Manager (CNB SrMgr) in developing a firm-wide central process to track the terms of engagement for new clients and review the terms of engagement for existing clients. He/she will also assist with the development of a new database for governing documents that will allow for easy identification and access to all active governing documents for each client, the Firm’s historical relationship with its clients, and to generate reports used for Firm’s relationships with its client base.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees a project to review terms of engagement for all existing clients, including legal assessment of which terms govern
  • Develops a detailed project plan, including overall approach, detailed tasks, timeline, decision trees and tracking categories
  • Works with Conflicts Staff Attorneys to refine current process for tracking the terms of engagement for new clients
  • Works with Information Technology to determine the appropriate solution for maintaining a database of governing documents
  • Works with CNB Senior Manager and Conflicts Operations Manager to determine integration needs and requirements between the governing documents database, Intapp Open and other resources used in the Firm’s automated new business intake platform
  • Designs reporting for presenting key information to CFO, Management Committee, and other firm departments regarding the different aspects of the firm’s relationship with its clients
  • Works closely with other Firm departments where necessary to build out the database, integrate data, and support project
  • Meets with the DGC and CNB Senior Manager on a regular basis to clarify objectives, report progress, and assess additional areas for project development
  • Assists in developing training materials and providing training to partners and staff regarding usage of the governing document database.
  • Performs various duties and special projects as assigned by the DGC/CNB Senior Manager

Education and/or Experience:


  • A minimum of 5-7 years experience as a Business Analyst



  • Large law firm experience
  • Experience with high volume document review
  • Knowledge of rules of professional responsibility
