Summary

The Sr. Land Professional will assist in and coordinate the review, analysis and interpretation of documents relative to the ownership and operation of oil and gas exploration and production properties and midstream asset, and assist the attorneys in the preparation of exhibits to mortgages describing the property to be mortgaged.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review, and coordinate the review of, title opinions, files, runsheets, ownership reports, assignments, farm-outs and other documents to ascertain represented ownership of assets involved in transactions and determine whether the borrower has satisfactory title to the applicable properties.
  • Coordinates the review of liens and encumbrances that are undertaken at the county level prior to closing, and coordinates the recordation of mortgages and other relevant transaction documents in the relevant county filing offices.
  • Assists attorneys in the calculation of exposure to possible loss of value relative to identified title issues and assists in determining required resolution and/or negotiation for resolution of issues with sellers and borrowers.
  • Assists in and coordinates the preparation, recordation and organization (including the maintenance of updated recording schedules) of mortgages in relevant states and counties, as well as assisting and coordinating releases and modification to mortgages when needed.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Preferred:

  • 4 year college degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
